Slug & snail illustrations

Illustrations created for this year’s Wild About Gardens campaign run for children by the Wildlife Trusts and the RHS. The theme for 2024 was slugs and snails – admittedly not my favourite creatures to be illustrating, and challenging to build up the layers of colour and texture for the realistic images needed for the identification sheets. However, it was an enjoyable challenge, and I have started to think a little more kindly upon the hungry molluscs in my own garden (as long as they leave my vegetable seedlings alone!) I created identification sheets for slugs and snails, two activity sheets and also an A4 illustration showing a garden that is welcoming to our slimy friends. These were all included in the final guide (designed by the Wildlife Trusts) and some illustrations were featured in the RHS magazine.
